Even though Blueberry Kush is pure Indica, its THC level comes in the range of 20% to 24%. This is on the higher side, even for modern Sativa-dominant strains. But the Indica genetics help to keep it grounded. In other words, while you’ll feel the classic euphoric happiness, its uplifting effect is balanced by an overall feeling of mellow relaxation. This makes it easy to transition seamlessly into the comfort of an old-school, Indica, full-body stone. It will probably make you quite sleepy, so it’s probably best to keep Blueberry Kush for use at night. Or at least to make sure and allow yourself plenty of recovery time.
You can collect up to 650g/m2 indoors or 1Kg per plant outdoors. This is more respectable when you consider that this strain is very compact, with a growing range of about 1M (indoor minimum) to 1.5M (outdoor maxim). Although if outdoor growing conditions are particularly good, it can push its way towards 2 metres. And increase in harvest.
Blueberry Kush is ready to harvest in 8 to 10 weeks indoors. Outdoors, you can harvest anytime between the end of September and the start of November.
Indoors, this strain will respond happily to plant training. You will, however, need to remember that, like all Indicas, this strain likes to stretch outwards about as much as upwards. You will need to take this into consideration when deciding how many plants you can realistically fit into your growing space. Remember that even though this strain does have a very high degree of genetic resistance to mould, diseases and pests, you’re still asking for trouble if you compromise on ventilation.
Outdoors, your main consideration will be to keep your plants warm and dry. This means that outside of the Mediterranean area, you might want to think long and hard about whether or not you’re really in a position to undertake a full outdoor grow. If you’re in the UK/Scandanavia then you probably want to think of this strain as being an indoor-only one. If you’re desperate to avoid the costs of running grow lights, you could try growing this strain in a greenhouse. Although you might find it easier all round just to invest in some economical (and cool-running) LED lights and grow indoors.
With a name like Blueberry Kush, you’d probably expect the main flavour to be blueberry and it’s certainly one of the key notes in the overall taste. There are other berries and fruits in there, including a dash of citrus lemon and some sweet woodiness. All grounded by that classic Kush spiciness. In short, if you like fruit and you like Kush then you’re probably going to love this strain. The aroma is very much dominated by blueberry and kush but there are broader notes of fruits as well as a touch of earthiness.
Some pheromones of Blueberry Kush will turn blue, particularly if you give them a helping hand by lowering the temperature at night.
