HIFI 4G is one of the most bizarrely-named cannabis strains we’ve encountered, but it does make a bit more sense when you learn that this is a 75% Sativa cross between WiFi OG and Glueberry OG. WiFi OG is also known as White Fire OG and is a cross between The White and Fire OG. The White is an Indica-dominant of unknown genetics but believed to be a member of the Kush family. Fire OG is a cross between regular OG Kush and San Fernando Valley OG Kush. Glueberry OG is a cross between Gorilla Glue and OG Kush. In other words, while this strain is very new, it’s backed by some very well-established and highly-respected cannabis genetics.
Even though HIFI 4G is three-quarters Sativa, it has a fairly moderate 20% THC. This slots it into a very interesting medical niche. The high level of Sativa genetics makes it a very suitable choice for people who need to medicate in the daytime. Also for those who want to keep a clear head. While the moderate level of THC makes it particularly attractive to people who have mild-to-moderate chronic conditions and want a strain which can provide meaningful relief without an overpowering high. This moderate THC level also makes it feasible to use HIFI 4G at night and still get some decent sleep. Especially since the dose of Indica genetics helps to put a discrete damper on the overall effect.
The experience of using this strain has been compared to listening to the best music in the world. We can tell you that the high is actually quite relaxed and contemplative even though it is definitely very uplifting and certainly increases creativity. The fact that there is about 25% Indica genetics in this strain means that your initial high transitions gently into a light but beautifully-relaxing, full-body stone.
Even though HiFi 4G is very definitely Sativa dominant, it generally stays at a fairly manageable height. You can expect each marijuana plant to have a growing range of about 1M indoors to 1.5M outdoors. If growing conditions are exceptionally good, you may find that a marijuana plant or two does get a bit taller, although probably not by much.
Given that HiFi 4G is about the same size as the average Indica, it seems reasonable that its yields are pretty much in line with what you would expect from a decent Indica, which is to say up to 500g/m2 indoors and up to 700g per marijuana plant outdoors.
Although we generally recommend that beginners start with autoflowering strains, this strain is a bit of an exception due to the fact that it not only behaves very much like an Indica in terms of size, speed and general manageability. But even by Indica standards, it’s pretty robust and undemanding even for an Indica.
All this strain really needs to thrive is a warm, dry sunny space and decent ventilation. For the most part, it will be very forgiving of classic beginner mistakes such as under feeding or over watering.
Picking up from the comments on yield, HIFI 4G also has the same sort of growing time as the average Indica. It needs about 8 weeks of flowering indoors and will be ready to harvest in early October outdoors.
As you might expect from the genetics, HIFI 4G tastes very similar to OG Kush which is to say deep and spicey, like hash. But does have some of Gorilla Glue’s characteristic mocha coffee notes along with some fruity-sweet flavours. The aroma essentially mirrors the flavour.
HIFI 4G has what we’d call mossy-green nugs which are generously covered in glittering white trichomes and colourful orange hairs.
