One of the latest strains in a long tradition of excellent Hazes, Nitro Lemon Haze retains the fantastic qualities that have made its extended family such a hit. When the first Haze strains were introduced from Northern California to the world they were met with a muted reaction due to their lengthy flowering time. So frosty was this reception that Hazes were all but extinct from popular use in the 1980’s.

In one of the all-time greatest comebacks in cannabis history, however, the strain made its way over to the Netherlands where it was completely revitalised. Through experimentation and some smart crossbreeding, the Haze was turned into the basis for the desirable and popular strains we know today. Nitro Lemon Haze continues this tradition of expanding on the original formula to keep the classic Haze up there with the greats.

Strength

True to the Haze tradition, Nitro Lemon Haze is a sativa dominant strain that pulls no punches in the strength department. With its 19-22% THC content, Nitro Lemon Haze has sublime effects that don’t become overbearing despite the power of the strain. Better yet, this is one long-lasting ride that will see you feeling its benefits for hours. Thankfully these benefits are more pleasant than inconveniently debilitating, with its well-rounded effects being very functional and engaging.

A few tokes in and you will notice the development of a mellow cerebral sensation. This is neither a mentally-foggy nor paranoia-prone high, instead performing very well in social situations and bringing plenty of good vibes with it. This is partially due to the infusion of energy it conjures, making you want to be occupied and active rather than passive and silent.

Perhaps the biggest departure from the Haze of the 80’s and before is Nitro Lemon Haze’s swift flowering period. Taking just 8-10 weeks from seed to flower, the strain outperforms most other modern Hazes (that still sometimes take 14-16 weeks) and even most other sativa-dominant hybrids.

Indoor growing will see Nitro Lemon Haze keeping at a respectable sized 100-110cm, making it both manageable and convenient. It can thrive in either a hydroponic or soil setup, though you will find soil helps bring out the distinctive lemony flavour the strain is known for.

Outdoor growing is also possible, and is indeed recommended should your conditions allow it. Being a sativa this plant is not shy about reaching for the sky and stretching its limbs. Unlike an indoor grown plant, however, Nitro Lemon Haze will not stop at a metre or so, with the natural light and suitable weather conditions seeing the plant growing up to 220cm in height.
Using the LST and FIMMING methods may help keep the plant size more manageable, but even so it may still attract unwanted attention. Whilst not exactly a prime candidate for a stealth grow, those able to raise Nitro Lemon Haze outdoors will have their maximised harvest ready for early October.

Taste

With the word ‘Lemon’ in the title, it is hardly surprising that the strain is a citrusy treat from start to finish. This lemon note forms the basis of the taste, mingling with other citrus flavours to give it a very fresh yet sweet taste profile. This is accompanied by a thick undertone of skunk that runs through it as well which provides a sweet-and-sour element to the strain’s flavour.

Bag Appeal

The scent of Nitro Lemon Haze follows the flavour of the smoke in most ways. The bud itself possesses a slightly fresher citrusy-ness than the smoke, though this sharpness is diminished when the buds are cured. Upon this happening they adopt a warmer scent, turning the fresh grass element into more of a herbal sweet candy one.

Even visually the buds seem to have taken this citrus influence, sporting yellow touches among the green with amber hairs protruding intermittently. The result is a vibrant and alluring yellow sheen to the visual profile of the nugs.

The buds are not quite as dense as certain other strains, but their elongated shape gives them added character while its frosting of trichomes finish the presentation of Nitro Lemon Haze off immaculately.

We have to own up that we love a name with a good pun in it, we like it even better when it relates to a hybrid of the legendary G13 (along with Trainwreck and Silver Haze) but joking aside, this is a high-quality strain with a really great taste and plenty of THC.

Strength

BLZ Bud averages around 20% THC and it gets to work quickly, so if you’re looking for a strain which can zap pain nearly instantly, then this could be a very good choice. Once the initial head-high wears off, the couch lock kicks in as you experience a buzz which is both euphoric and calming. Overall, we’d class this as a daytime strain, albeit one which requires you to allow yourself a decent period of recovery, but we have heard of it being used for insomnia. We wouldn’t recommend it if insomnia is your main, medical issue, but for occasional use BLZ Bud could be a reasonable option. Regardless of when you use BLZ Bud, you definitely want to be lying down, or at least sitting in a very comfortable chair before you take your first draw since we meant what we said about this strain acting quickly.

Yield

Indoor growers can expect about 500 gr/m2 under a 600 watt light. Outdoor growing is possible although results can be more variable. For all its devilish name, BLZ Bud is, if not an angel to grow, then certainly a reasonably friendly strain and a feasible choice for beginners. It has the classic Indica “Christmas tree” growth pattern and stays a reasonably compact height of between 1 and 1.5 metres. Plant training can keep this even lower. Its bushy structure means that you’re unlikely to need to worry about providing support to stop it falling over or breaking up.

Speed

BLZ Bud will be ready in a reasonably prompt 8 to 9 weeks, so mid-/end September for outdoor growers. It will grow happily enough outdoors with the usual caveats about providing protection from the weather and practicing good odour control.

Taste

Overall this is a strain for those who like their weed on the sweet side, but not overly sweet, some people say that it reminds them of apples. There are sour base notes and a dash of spice to take the edge off the sweetness. Those with delicate throats should note the fact that BLZ Bud has a very smooth smoke, which is highly unlikely to trigger coughs.

Bag Appeal

BLZ Bud is actually quite a cheerful-looking weed since it is a bright green and has a decent sprinkling of bright orange pistils to add even more colour to it. Nugs are dense and compact without being so hard you break fingers trying to crumble them and the scent reflects the taste. Some people find the aroma has a creaminess to it, like bananas.

We love the original G13 and BLZ Bud arguably has even more going for it. It’s reasonably easy to grow, so a committed beginner should be able to manage it (basically you’re only going to get much simpler if you go down the autoflowering route), it has a great taste (the smoothness of the smoke is a distinct advantage in our opinion) and it gets to work really quickly. We know we’ve mentioned this before, but we’d really like to underline this, if you’re used to high-THC strains which need a bit of time to get started then BLZ Bud will be a very different experience for you. It’s up to you to decide whether or not this is a benefit or if you prefer to have a bit more time to ease into your medication.

It is necessary when discussing anything related to Super Silver Haze to mention its illustrious history. Strength

The potential yields from Super Silver Haze are not the only reason to take good care of it, however, as the strength and taste of the harvest will also improve from your attentiveness. Super Silver Haze is a hungry strain and will enjoy a generous amount of nutrients fed to it. This demanding nature of the plant makes it of moderate difficulty to grow, though you may find it an easier experience than some other Haze strains.

Indoor growing will be more practical for most, with Super Silver Haze preferring warm weather and its sativa genetics giving it the kind of height that is sure to draw attention. The size issue can be dealt with by tying the plant’s large central cola but its quick flowering time of 9-11 weeks means it is far easier than many other slower growing Haze strains. Those struggling to see the best of their Super Silver Haze plant may also benefit from using a Sea of Green (SoG) setup.

Anyone wishing to grow outside may find greenhouse cultivation is a practical option, though it should be reiterated that without sufficient warmth and sunlight Super Silver Haze may not reach its potential either in yield size or quality. If doing so, however, harvests should be ready in October or November.

While not recommended for complete novices, Super Silver Haze is not unreasonable and is generally quite forgiving of a few minor errors in feeding or temperature settings. For this reason the plant would still be suitable for those with even a little experience in growing.

Taste

Super Siler Haze is best known for its incredible high, but its taste should certainly not be overlooked either. The initial burst of flavour is one of citrusy freshness as the prominent sweet lemon notes are encountered. Behind this, however, is the kind of earthiness and sour Haze essence that adds depth and satisfying richness to it.

Bag Appeal

The popcorn-kernel sized nugs may not be so impressive visually compared to some of the more exotic-looking strains out there, but those in the know understand what that unassuming green bud hides within. The signs are there, however, with its crystal laced surface tempting the eye.

The scent of the bud is pleasant but not overpowering, reflecting the smooth and elegant high of the smoking experience. Careful attention to the smell will reveal a slightly spicy note or two among the stronger citrus base in an unostentatious first introduction to this incredible strain.

Tsi Fly is a real, little all-rounder, which is great for beginners, but will keep the more experienced very happy too.

Strength

Tsi Fly has about 10% to 15% THC, which puts it on the low to moderate side by today’s standards. Having said that, it’s quite enough to deal quickly and effectively with moderate pain. As you’d expect from such a compact plat, Tsi Fly has Indica leanings, so your moderate high will be followed by a gentle stone, making this strain a good choice for users who may want to use it during the day or at night. The stone is light enough that, if you need to, you can just get up and get on with your day (obviously leaving yourself plenty of time before you do anything complex such as driving), but it can also be enough to help settle you into sleep, so again, although there are better insomnia strains out there, if that’s your main problem, Tsi Fly is a perfectly reasonable choice for light and/or occasional use. In other words, as we’ve previously indicated, this isn’t a “knock-out” strain, by any definition, but it’s a flexible all-rounder, which is more than capable of dealing with everyday issues such as tension headaches.

Yield

Even though Tsi Fly rarely reaches a metre in height, it can still yield a very impressive 600g/m2, if put into a sea-of-green or screen-of-green set-up. Beginners aren’t likely to get such high yields, but even they can expect a decent harvest as long as they pay attention to the basics of marijuana growing, in particular good ventilation and odour control. Although Tsi Fly’s diminutive dimensions make it a popular choice for indoor growing, in principle, it is also suitable for outdoor growing although, realistically, that is only likely to be a practical option for growers in the far south of Europe.

Speed

As is often the case with compact strains, Tsi Fly finishes in a mere 8 to 9 weeks indoors. Outdoors, it will be ready around the start of October, hence why it’s unlikely to be suitable for outdoor growers in most of Europe.

Taste

This is another strain for those who like it fruity, in this case apricot. Although the flavour is rich and strong, it’s still light and clean. This is more refreshing and less heavy than many Indicas.

Bag Appeal

Tsi Fly, to be honest, isn’t particularly beautiful, but it is bountiful and has big nugs, by big nugs we mean that they’re often compared to golf balls and for once this isn’t really an exaggeration. In other words, your bag may not look like much on the outside, but it will have a very satisfying weight and once you start breaking open the nugs (which are compact and solid), you can enjoy that mouth-watering apricot scent.

We’d be the last people to abandon the old-school classics, but we recognize that modern needs, wants and tastes call for new, modern strains to satisfy them. Tsi Fly is a strain which has been developed out of established varieties (C4 x Cinderella 99), but adapted for modern growers, many of whom are going to be gardening indoors and in tight grow spaces for the simple reason that modern houses are shrinking in size and gardens are becoming both rarer and smaller. Additionally, there is a clear need and demand for strains which are capable all-rounders rather than super-strong or tailored for a specific medical condition. People want strains they can grow easily and use for everyday problems from tension headaches, to regular aches and pains (such as sports injuries) to occasional bouts of insomnia and they want strains which taste good as well as doing good. Tsi Fly delivers on every count.
