Wedding Cake Review

Wedding Cake Review

The Wedding Cake cannabis strain is nicely compact and offers very respectable yields.

Although Wedding Cake is 60% Indica dominant, its average THC is 22% to 25% THC.  CBD content can be up to 0.23% although the average is 0.1%.  As this is an Indica, the high is mellower than you might expect from the headline figures.  It’s a bright, buzzy, feeling of happiness, creativity and inspiration.  This gradually ebbs into a feeling of utter and complete relaxation.  The average CBD content in this strain is unlikely to leave you couchlocked.  Having said that, at the higher end it very well could.

Given the high THC content in Wedding Cake, it’s best to be prepared.  In other words, have some food and water handy for when the marijuana munchies strike.  That way you can just snack from the comfort of your couch (or bed).  So you’ll avoid the inconvenience of having to drag yourself up for food (or go hungry).

Overall, this cannabis strain is probably best kept for use at night.  The THC is a great way to clear your head of negative thoughts and worries.  It can also blast away severe physical pain, which could otherwise stop you from getting to sleep.  Then the CBD will take over.  It will provide not only deep mental relaxation, but also long-term relief from physical pain.  If you do use this strain in the daytime, it’s important to do so responsibly.  Make sure you have your full concentration back before doing anything complicated, such as driving.

Indoor yields are in the region of 450g/m2.  Outdoor yields are in the region of 450g per marijuana plant.  Having said that, Wedding Cake is very responsive to plant training.  This means that experienced indoor growers could push up the yield to 600g/m2 or even beyond.  Experienced outdoor growers can also push up their harvest to some degree.  If they can provide the very best growing conditions then 600g per marijuana plant is a possibility.

These plants have an average height of about 1M to 1.2M.  Indoors they may stay as short as 0.8M without any training.  Outdoors, you may see the occasional marijuana plant reach 1.5M or thereabouts.  Taller plants produce bigger harvests.  Therefore, if you want the absolute maximum yields it pays to allow them to stretch to their full height.  You will also want to give them space to stretch outwards as well.

Indoors the Wedding Cake strain needs 8 to 10 weeks of flowering time.  Outdoors it will be ready to harvest in late September or early October.  Picking up on the previous point, allowing your plants that extra growing time will allow them to reach their maximum yield.  (It will also allow them to reach their maximum THC content).

Outdoor growers should note that, like most strains of marijuana, this strain will only be really happy in a warm, dry, sunny, climate.  This means that if you want the biggest possible outdoor harvest, you will need to have good weather right up to the middle of October.  If this is likely to be a problem for you, then you will need to take a decision on whether to settle for a reduced yield or whether to grow indoors.  Alternatively, you could try growing in a greenhouse.  This would allow you to take advantage of the sunlight while keeping your plans warm and dry.  If you go for this option, remember to follow the outdoor planting schedule.

Another option, would be to use a hydroponic system.  This could cut your overall growing time by up to a week.  In other words, you could collect a reasonable harvest after just 7 weeks.  You would achieve maximum yields after about 9 weeks.

Wedding Cake is every bit as delicious as its name suggests.  In fact, if you ate a real wedding cake which tasted this good, you’d probably be very happy.  There’s a base of sweet earth with a touch of skunk pungency.  This is covered with a middle layer of rich cream and sweet vanilla.  Then finally there are top notes of warm spiciness, particularly ginger.

Bag Appeal

The Wedding Cake strain does look at bit like an actual iced cake.  The high THC content means that the nugs are covered in white trichomes.  Behind these, there is a layer of green leaves and bright orange hairs.  Nugs are very sticky so a grinder is essential.
